Born in the remote village of Losirwa, Ndeenga Shamata’s journey began with limited opportunity—but unlimited determination. Sent to live with her married sister, her life changed when she encountered a small school under an Oloponi tree.
What began as play became purpose. Quietly enrolled by compassionate teachers, she stepped into education despite cultural barriers that discouraged girls from learning.
With courage, she ran away to pursue education—eventually traveling to Iowa, USA through an exchange program. It was there she discovered her calling: to dedicate her life to rescuing and empowering vulnerable girls.
Today, through Shelter of Hope Organization, she is transforming lives— rescuing Maasai girls, empowering women, and building communities rooted in faith, dignity, and opportunity.

Over 200 people were reached, with nearly 70% youth hungry for hope and truth. God moved powerfully—lives were encouraged, restored, and some surrendered to Jesus. It was more than outreach; it was a divine encounter..
We sat with and served 32 widows and elderly women. What we shared was a little package of food —but it
carried something deeper. You could see hearts soften, walls come down, eyes light up again toward God.

Chicho, a 12-year-old girl and the newest rescued member of our family, had been living with her grandmother with no real hope of going to school. Her future looked uncertain and closed—but God stepped in and rewrote her story.
We work alongside vulnerable children living and working on the streets, helping them access protection, education, counseling, family support, and opportunities for a brighter future.
Many children living on the streets face abuse, neglect, hunger, violence, and lack of access to education and healthcare.

We believe every child deserves dignity, belonging, and the opportunity to achieve their God-given potential.
Female students in our communities face great challenges in hygiene and sanitation. Many rural schools have insufficient latrines, which are often poorly maintained. Girls who are menstruating face additional barriers: inability to afford sanitary pads, and cultural taboos around menstruation. As a result, many miss on average four days of school every month — over a month a year.
